On a recent drive from LA back to Santa Fe, I stopped for the night in iconic Winslow, AZ and witnessed the scene that inspired this painting. The colors of the expansive Southwestern sky never disappoint just after the sun drops behind the horizon and the moon makes its grand entrance.
